Definitely going to try this! Those are ingredients we often have on hand, and it looks like something hubby would like if I bulked it up with some rice or noodles.

Love it. :) Yeah... we made sure we pinned down the nickname to avoid the possibility of ending up with a Lex or an Al or a Xander. :) Now, if he decides someday to take on the name of a comic book villain for fun, that's another story. :)

If it's French-Canadian, Lonctin isn't pronounced how it's spelled, so that's probably why it got changed. I find most English speakers can't pronounce tin correctly. It's more nasally and you don't fully pronounce the n at the end. But yeah, Stanton would be a lot easier.

Anyway...I love your themes. And I think Alexander is a fine name. As for literary names, I'm guessing comic books don't count. But I suppose you wouldn't want to name him after Lex Luthor anyway. :P

Great ideas!! I've considered the author twist - lots to choose from! Throwing the Three Muskateers in there as an option is pretty sweet. :)

How about a literary connection with an author of that name? The Chronicles of Prydain, by Lloyd Alexander, are some of my favorite juvenile books, which I still enjoy to this day. Also Alexandre Dumas and Alexander Pope.
