I became well acquainted as a child with bubble-gum pink calamine lotion that went on as a liquid, then dried, caked and flaked – and sometimes stopped my bug bites from itching.
There were Summers that I had dozens of welts from mosquito bites all over my arms and legs, and I can still remember the frustration of lying in bed awake because I couldn’t stop scratching. Still, I hated sprays – the smell made me nauseated, and I think I knew intuitively that they just couldn’t be good for me.
I have my own children now, one of whom is terrified of flying bugs. Thankfully, I’ve somehow convinced her that bug spray is like magic that keeps them away.
Well, I shouldn’t say I’ve *somehow* convinced her it works – she’s convinced because we’ve found a spray that makes it a true statement!!!
My cousin Toni has been working to create natural soaps and candles for years. The scents she’s come up with are wonderful! Her recent venture into making bug repellent products has been rewarding because she’s hearing over and over again how amazingly they WORK!
She mailed me two bottles at the beginning of the Summer and we tried both the Lavender and Bamboo Musk scents. We LOVE the Bamboo Musk because it’s not too “girly” for Rob to use. I don’t even mind the smell lingering after we come inside b/c it’s so refreshing!
We passed the lavender along to friends who appreciate non-toxic products and I was happy to know I was gifting something that was effective without sacrificing health.
Bug Outta Here bug repellent spray is safe for children and pets, plus it’s free of harsh chemicals, DEET, and GMOs.

Toni is passionate about offering a product that is trustworthy, effective, and a good value. She most often sells at farmer’s markets and shops in and near her home in Dunedin, Florida, but she’d very much like to get the word out and sell her products nation-wide.
Right now, she’s holding a fund-raiser to earn the $30,000 she’ll need to take her business to the next level. Each person who donates a sum above $5 will receive a gift and/or product from her. You can read all of the details on her website.
Individual bottles are also available for purchase on her site. If you’ve been hunting for a new bug repellent solution for your Fall hikes and barbecues, please consider giving Bug Outta Here a try!
