Alex’s First Week

The not-so-fun part of today – PKU testing

See? Not-so-fun!

But there’s nothing mommy and lamby can’t make better. :)

At his one week check-up, Alex weighed in just a few ounces less than his birth weight, so we’re good there. He also passed his hearing test. The PKU wasn’t really too traumatic. I nursed him through it.

So why am I not nursing in that photo up there? Well… *sigh* I’m a bit nursed out. We are unfortunately dealing with thrush (candida/yeast infection) in my breasts and it’s very painful. We’re treating it, but it’s kind of all consuming.

Because of this, I definitely haven’t written out my birth story yet. Promise it will happen soon! In the meantime, please pray that we’ll be able to get the thrush under control. It hasn’t been a very fun few days. :(

So precious! I hope you get all the problems worked out! I love the little lamb … looks so soft and cuddly!

Praying for healing. I didn’t have thrush, but did have intense (not normal) pain with K so I understand how all-consuming it can be. Especially when feeding them, period, at this age is an all the time, all day affair–and then there’s the ouch factor on top of that. Not fun. :( Love you.

Praying about the thrush. I feel your pain, we ended up dealing with it continually for 8 months, and off and on for 3 years total. I’m still getting it under control. But I’ve definitely found what works for me, it’s just a matter of staying on top of the cycle.
