Make it Yourself Monday: Fruit Roll-ups

The photos don’t do the fruit justice. This would be great to make if you needed to preserve lots of fresh fruit before it turned. I wish wish wish that I had a dehydrator, but it was easy enough to use the oven for this.

I was completely shocked to read in the Healthy Snacks to Go E-book that making fruit roll-ups is as simple as pureeing the fruit (I used frozen!) and spreading it out thinly on parchment paper or a baking stone in an oven on the lowest temp. You can read directions for using a dehydrator here or enter to win the Healthy Snacks to Go E-book before tomorrow night and cross your fingers for a chance to win better directions – we’ve enjoyed very much all of the recipes and ideas we’ve tried.

We'll be getting a dehydrator in a few days and this is one of the things I want to try (besides making beef jerky, of course). I've been busy making bagels, soft pretzels, and Italian rustic bread. I'm having fun experimenting with new recipes :)
