Make it Yourself Monday: Bagels!

Wow! Guys, seriously – this rocked! I had no idea how easy it was to make bagels!! I used the Homemade Soaked Bagels recipe from Passionate Homemaking. They came out great even though I read the directions incorrectly and ended up only soaking half the dough overnight. You can skip soaking altogether, but you should consider the health benefits of the extra step.

I used apple cider vinegar for the acid medium, 1/2 whole wheat and 1/2 spelt for the flour, and added some ground flax seed. I also added cinnamon and dried cranberries to half the batch – so yummy!!! Makes 12.

Today I am making cream cheese!!! Come back next week to see how it goes! Link up your own posts below so I can see what you are making yourself! Read guidelines here.
